On 2 June, within the ICAR Annual Conference organised in Verona, a workshop is jointly organised by ICAR and IDF on the "Use of Sensor Data to Monitor and Manage Health and Welfare of Dairy Cattle".

The workshop is aimed to Representatives of different stakeholders along the dairy value chain such as farmers, academia, advisory services, industry, NGOs, ….

The aim of the workshop is to share new knowledge and developments on the use of sensor data in herd management and welfare assessment, together with the discussion on the needs and opportunities for different stakeholders. Presenting the joint ICAR/IDF initiative to develop reference standards for sensor based animal welfare and health recording, and define the next steps forward are also among the main objectives
